Year 1 & 2

Year 1 & 2 Owl Class!

 

Welcome to Owl Class! This year you will be taught by Mrs Smith, Mrs Cornes and Mrs Underwood . Our super team also includes our wonderful Teaching Assistants Mrs Rose and Mrs Grace .

 

Mrs Cornes: teaches on a Monday and Tuesday,

Mrs Smith: teaches on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday!

Mrs Underwood: teaahes on a Wednesday afternoon

 

Our class is named 'Owls' because they are wise and love to learn, just like our class!

PE

Remember to come to school every Tuesday and Wednesday dressed in your PE kit.

 

 

Reading

Please ask an adult at home to support you with your reading by hearing you read at least 3 times a week. All books will be changed every Thursday. 

 

 

Please ensure your child has a water bottle in school every day, a rain coat and a sun hat for hot weather.

  • Maths Games 'Hit the button' is a favourite- here you can practice your number bonds to 10, 20 and your times table knowledge (2s, 5s, 10). There are also lots more fun games to explore.
  • Yr 1 Maths Play a variety of games and practice your mathematical skills
  • Yr 2 Maths Play a variety of games and practice your mathematical skills
  • Phonics Play Lots of free games to explore and help with initial sounds, special friends and blending. Try out 'Buried Treasure, Dragon's Den' and 'Picnic on Pluto' under the resources section.
  • English Play a variety of games and practice your English skills.
  • Science We are learning about the Human Body this term. Can you label the parts of the body correctly?
  • History Find out about significant people from the past and how they have helped to change the world we live in. Here's some information about Florence Nightingale.
