Every Child Matters: Be Healthy

School Fruit and Vegetables Scheme

As part of the drive to ensure that our children are healthy, we have joined the scheme which provides children with a free piece of fruit or vegetable each day.

The School Fruit and Vegetable scheme is one part of a whole programme of activities promoting healthy eating in schools.

Healthy School Week

An awareness raising 'Healthy School Week' was 'kicked off' by a visit from the MK Dons when the children eagerly participated in a training session and football skills. A visit to 'Prego' to taste 'healthy food', make mouth-watering pizza and learn about food was followed by a 'Keep Fit' afternoon led by a local fitness instructor. The culmination of this exciting week was a dressing up day with footballers, cricketers, athletes, rugby players and many sports 'personalities' attending our school!
Cool Milk

Cool Milk for Schools

The school participates in the 'Cool Milk for Schools' scheme.

Milk is available free for the under fives and at a small cost for the over fives. An application form is available in the induction pack.

Healthy Schools

The school has been awarded Healthy Schools status.  This recognises the teaching and encouragement the school gives to children to eat and live healthily, engage in physical activity,  and develop their emotional well being as part of the Personal, Social and Health Education curriculum topic.
